The legacy

Inaugurated in 1929, for 60 years MOLITOR was the most popular swimming baths in Paris – with its two pools, galas and avant-garde ambience.
It was closed in 1989 and listed as a Historical Monument. It then became the haunt of artists and the dilapidated building became the temple of the Paris underground.
Ever-changing and daring, MOLITOR has always welcomed those with a taste for the unconventional. Together, they are the soul of MOLITOR, they built a legacy that simply demands to be passed on.

The pools

As its monumental emblems, MOLITOR’S two pools structure its architecture and the flow of people within the venue. They make it a place for living and offer a promise of renewal at the heart of the city.

The winter pool (33m), sheltered by its huge glass roof, surrounded by its mythical blue cabins on three levels and enhanced by its beautiful mosaics, is an invitation to sport.

The summer pool (46m), surrounded by its beaches, is an ode to the joy of drifting into oblivion. However, no excuses! Heated year round at 28 °, you can cut through the water freestyle or swim an elegant breaststroke during any season.

Practical information

Open Monday to Friday from 7am to 10pm, and from 8am to 8pm at weekends.
Access is restricted to room guests (from 3pm the day of arrival until noon the day of departure), to club members and schools 3 half-day a week. We always guarantee the access to one of the pools.

The concept

MOLITOR has inspired and hosted galas, parades and performances since it was first opened and even became a blank canvas available for artistic expression during its official closure.
Through its programme and its non-profit association, PoolArtLife, MOLITOR is seeking once again to be a rallying point for the artistic and cultural community, open to Parisians.

The restaurant orchestrates an encounter between Chef Julien Mercier, Maître Restaurateur, and his kitchen brigade. Together, they compose their chosen menus based around French cuisine. A house where talents cross-fertilize, express themselves and inspire one another.
